Carondelet St. Joseph’s Hospital, in collaboration with the University of Arizona College of Pharmacy, is offering a new and rewarding 12-month ASHP candidate status Post-Graduate Year One (PGY1) Pharmacy Residency program. The resident’s year is structured into a comprehensive program that emphasizes the development of direct patient care services, teaching and leadership, and quality improvement. After a month-long orientation to the department, the resident begins a series of learning experiences and other longitudinal activities designed to meet the goals and objectives of the program. Upon successful completion, graduates will be fully eligible to provide advanced pharmaceutical care in an acute care setting, obtain board certification, and pursue a fellowship or Post-Graduate Year Two (PGY2) Pharmacy Residency training.
Number of positions: 1 (International Track)
The PGY1 Pharmacy Residency program builds on Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) education and consists of core (required) learning experiences in specific areas of acute care pharmacy and elective learning experiences that are tailored to the interests of the resident. These core and elective learning experiences will provide a basic foundation for quality clinical practice.
