About HSHS St. Elizabeth's Hospital
PGY-2 Pharmacy Informatics Residency
The PGY-2 Pharmacy Informatics Residency Program with Hospital Sisters Health System (HSHS) is designed to provide the resident with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to be a leader in pharmacy informatics and health information technology. The flexibility and wide variety of opportunities allow for the program to be individually tailored to the interests of the resident. Rotation opportunities include clinical informatics, vendor relations, pharmacy automation, health system informatics and administration, supply chain operations, evidence-based medicine, patient safety, quality, and regulatory operations.
Upon completion of the residency, the resident will be proficient in pharmacy informatics at a multi-facility health care system.
In addition to learning about informatics, the resident has opportunities to be involved with teaching through our affiliation with Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE) School of Pharmacy. The resident can earn a teaching certificate through SIUE, and will receive an adjunct clinical faculty appointment with the school.
About Us
The PGY-2 Pharmacy Informatics Residency Program at H...SHS St. Elizabeth’s has received full accreditation by ASHP. The residency is based out of St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Belleville, Illinois, which is located about 20 miles east of St. Louis. HSHS St. Elizabeth’s is part of a multi-institutional health care system that sponsors 15 hospitals in 14 communities across Illinois and Wisconsin. In November 2017, HSHS St. Elizabeth’s Hospital will relocating to a new, $253 million replacement facility and ambulatory care center off Interstate 64 in in O’Fallon, Illinois.
HSHS St. Elizabeth’s Hospital is accredited by The Joint Commission- the nation’s preeminent hospital accreditation body. Our hospital provides high-quality inpatient and outpatient care to the St. Louis metropolitan area, Southern Illinois region, and Scott Air Force Base, and is also a training site for the St. Louis University Family Medicine Residency Program and SIUE School of Pharmacy APPE Program. Our accredited programs have consistently demonstrated quality outcomes that positively impact our patients, their families and the entire community. Plus, the hospital continues to investment to bring outstanding physicians and some of the region’s most advanced specialists and health care services to the area. Our extensive family of care includes progressive partnerships with the HSHS Medical Group, HSHS Home Care, specialty physicians, and nationally recognized groups such as the Prairie Heart Institute, SSM Health Cardinal Glennon pediatricians, Healogics Wound Care Center, and Telemedicine services.

Application Process
The HSHS PGY-2 Pharmacy Informatics Residency Program participates in the Residency Showcase and Personnel Placement Service (PPS) at ASHP Midyear Clinical Meeting. Interested applicants are strongly encouraged to schedule an interview during PPS or visit with the Residency Program Director at of HSHS St. Elizabeth’s Hospital.
Application Prerequisites
•Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an ACPE-accredited pharmacy academic program
•Licensed pharmacist, or be eligible for licensure, in the state of Illinois by September 1st
•Graduate of an ASHP-accredited PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency Program
