Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center (PSHMC) is a tertiary care acute teaching hospital. PSHMC consists of a level 1 trauma center with an emergency department providing over 70,000 visits per year. Penn State Children's Hospital features the region's highest level neonatal and pediatric intensive care. The pharmacy department vision is to provide optimal pharmacotherapy to patients across the continuum of care through collaboration and education of our patients and healthcare providers. Each year, pharmacy residents are supported in an educationally stimulating academic medical center environment in which 1,700 multidisciplinary trainees are dedicated to extensive learning. The focus on layered learning and interdisciplinary collaboration allows optimization of care across disciplines in a highly receptive environment.
