About Montefiore Medical Center
The PGY-1 Residency Program in Pharmacy is an accredited program of the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists. It was established in 1968 as the first pharmacy residency in New York City, and was later accredited by the American Society of Hospital Pharmacists in 1975.
Montefiore Medical Center's program builds on a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) education and outcomes to contribute to the development of clinical pharmacists. By completion of our program, residents will be able to care for patients with a wide range of medication-related conditions. In addition, they will be well equipped and eligible for board certification, and postgraduate year two (PGY2) pharmacy residency training.
Toshiba Morgan-Joseph, BS PharmD is the current director of the residency program.
