About Oak Hill Hospital PGY1
Job Description:
The Pharmacy Resident operates in a more clearly defined area of practice and/or provides a specialized scope of pharmacy services as specified by the Pharmacy Clinical Coordinator/Director of Pharmacy. Residents will serve as a resource person for medical, nursing, and pharmacy staff. Residents will participate in the development of new services, systems and skills within the Pharmacy Department. The Pharmacy Resident supervises pharmacy technicians and interns. When need arises, will perform other duties as assigned by the Pharmacy Clinical Coordinator or supervisor. Completes all assigned learning objectives in the areas of Pharmacy Practice Management, Acute Pharmacy Practice, and associated elective rotations; developing a Medication Utilization Evaluation (MUE); journal clubs; patient management conferences; and completion of one major project for presentation at a national meeting of pharmacy practitioners. Assists the Pharmacy Clinical Coordinator by attending assigned department, hospital, and medical staff meetings and providing constructive suggestions to problem solve, assist with maintaining productivity standards and setting a positive atmosphere... for professional development. Assures compliance of state and federal regulatory requirements through appropriate documentation of medication and narcotic processing and ensures departmental and physician adherence to the Oak Hill Hospital formulary. Provides consultative services to physicians, nurses, and other health professionals in the design of patient-specific medication treatment plans which achieve clearly identified therapeutic outcomes, to include pharmacokinetic monitoring, medication risk avoidance, therapeutic optimization, or other contributions to patient care. Supports the mission and vision of the Oak Hill Hospital and demonstrates excellent customer service at all times. Understands and is committed to helping the Oak Hill Hospital and its associated facilities achieve its goals. Follows policies and procedures of Oak Hill Hospital. Participates in the Quality Improvement process and adheres to Oak Hill Hospital standards of behavior.
Essential Functions:
Manages stress appropriately and can make decisions under pressure. Manages anger, fear, hostility, violence of others appropriately. Works in areas that are confined and /or crowded. The minimum requirements of this position require the individual to: work with periods of sitting, standing, lifting, stooping, bending, walking, talking, answering telephones, managing task, dealing with customers across departmental lines and services. Frequently lifts at full range of motion or carries 40 lbs and frequently pulls/pushes with 50 lbs force. Attendance is essential to this role.
