About Valleywise Health PGY1 Pharmacy Residency
Valleywise Health provides services to over 70,000 culturally diverse members of Maricopa County. Within the health system, the Department of Pharmacy provides services to a 325-bed full-service teaching hospital (Valleywise Health Medical Center), 289 acute care psychiatric beds (Valleywise Health Behavioral Health Centers in Mesa, Phoenix, and Maryvale), and twelve outpatient clinics. The PGY1 Pharmacy Residency offered by Valleywise Health is focused on acute care training at Valleywise Health Medical Center.
As a teaching hospital, Valleywise Health Medical Center is a leader in the clinical training of future physicians, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals. Valleywise Health has affiliations with the University of Arizona, Midwestern University College of Pharmacy- Glendale, and Creighton University School of Pharmacy and has pharmacy students on rotation throughout the year. The Department of Pharmacy has a clinical team that covers Adult Acute Care, Medical Critical Care, Surgical Critical Care, Burn Critical Care, Infectious Diseases, and Pediatrics. We also offer clinical pharmacy services in the Psych Annex, Med/Surg, Emergency Department, and Ambulatory Care Clinic.
