About NorthShore University HealthSystem PGY1 Community-Based Pharmacy Residency Program
NorthShore University HealthSystem is an integrated, comprehensive health care delivery system located in the northeast suburbs of Chicago consisting of Evanston, Glenbrook, Highland Park, and Skokie Hospitals, a 900 member Medical Group, a Home Services Division, and a Research Institute. The hospitals of NorthShore University HealthSystem rank among the Top 100 Hospitals and the Top 15 major teaching hospitals nationally, and are a principle teaching affiliate for the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine and have a collaborative relationship with the Mayo Clinic Care Network. With the full implementation of electronic medical record, NorthShore is recognized as one of the “Most Wired Hospitals” in the country.
The Pharmacy Department provides clinical services through decentralized pharmacists in an integrated practice model. Distribution is through automated dispensing machines and centralized IV preparation. Education of health care professionals is an important component of our mission. NorthShore currently offers 12 positions in the PGY1 Pharmacy Residency program, 3 positions in the PGY1 Community Residency program, and 1 position each in the PGY2 Oncology..., PGY2 Pharmacy Informatics, and PGY2 Health System Pharmacy Administration and Leadership Residency Programs. All residents have opportunities to develop and reinforce clinical, practice management, and precepting skills to advance as well rounded practitioners.
