About Medical Center Health System PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Residency
Medical Center Hospital (MCH) is in West Texas in Odessa, Texas. MCH was founded in 1949 and serves seventeen surrounding counties. In the past few years MCH has been recognized as a stroke center, bariatric center, and diabetes center. Most recently MCH has gained the status as a level three Trauma Center.
Our hospital is a 402-bed community teaching hospital with medical training in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, OBGYN, Hospitalist, and Emergency Medicine. Patient care areas involved in this daily care include a forty-bed critical care unit, twenty-bed neonatal intensive care unit, forty teleme-try beds and newly remodeled trauma bays in the emergency department. Medical Center Hospital and its pharmacy department operates on core values of integrity, accountability, respect, excellence, and patient centered care. As a resident and practicing clinician in this institution, these values will be the foundation of all expectations during the PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Residency program as well as the PGY2 Emergency Medicine Pharmacy Residency.
MCH initiated its PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Residency program with two residents in July 2014. Our re-accreditation visit from the American... Society of Health-System Pharmacists for this twelve month residency program was completed in 2020 and we are accredited until 2024. In 2018, our PGY2 Emergency Medicine Pharmacy Residency program was started and was officially accredited in 2020 until 2028.
