The ChristianaCare PGY-2 Ambulatory Care Program provides the resident with advanced training in ambulatory care providing a variety of opportunities with unique experiences. The program incorporates a multidisciplinary patient-centered experience giving the resident the necessary skills to become an independent, confident and an innovative ambulatory clinical pharmacist. The program is tailored to the interests and career goals of the resident. Resident serves as a mentor and chief resident to the PGY-1 pharmacy residents and participates in various committees. Teaching opportunities include:

    • Academic monthly lectures to medical residents.
    • One pharmacy grand round continuing education presentation to pharmacy staff.
    • Inservice presentations to healthcare providers and staff.
    • Precepting pharmacy students and PGY-1 residents

Rotation opportunities occur at both Wilmington and Newark campus. Rotation experiences include Primary Care, HIV, Kidney Transplant, Home-based Primary Care, Anticoagulation, Population Health, Practice Management, Rural Healthcare, Research and Ambulatory Pharmacy Staffing.  Elective options include Ambulatory microbial Stewardship, HIV Internal Medicine, Outpatient Oncology and Pain & Palliative Care.

Interested candidates should apply through the PhORCAS system. Candidates should provide PhORCAS the following:

  • School of pharmacy transcript
  • Curriculum vitae
  • Letter of intent including your desire for residency training at ChristianaCare
  • Three letters of recommendation. Letters of recommendation may come from, but are not limited to college faculty, preceptors, mentors, and employers

All materials must be submitted by January 1st.
