Thank you for your interest in our Carilion New River Valley Community-based Pharmacy Residency Program! This program began in 2019 with the intent to advance community practice and focus on a higher level of patient care. The role of the community pharmacist is changing and here at Carilion Clinic we strive to be on the forefront demonstrating our utility as part the outpatient care team. This program prepares our residents to be an innovative clinical practitioner who will be a leader in the profession. The PGY1 Community-Based Pharmacy Residency program at Carilion New River Valley Medical Center is an ASHP-accredited 12-month residency program. Residents completing this program will be well equipped to provide quality medication-related care for patients with a wide range of
