Aultman Hospital Main Campus (Canton, Ohio) PGY1 Residents will serve as active members of interdisciplinary teams and participate in a wide variety of clinical rotations to enhance and refine their pharmacy practice skills and knowledge. With 15 pharmacy specialists and more than 600 licensed beds, the pharmacy department boasts a robust resident learning environment. The strengths of the program include ambulatory care, cardiology, internal medicine, emergency medicine, infectious disease, and critical care. Residents will also have the opportunity to earn a teaching certificate. Resident graduates will be prepared for acute care clinical and staff pharmacist positions, adjunct faculty positions and a variety of PGY-2 programs. Aultman Alliance Community Hospital (Alliance, Ohio) offers a variety of services to the Alliance community. The MEDS Clinic is a pharmacist-run ambulatory care clinic that offers chronic disease state management through an interprofessional patient-centered environment. The two PGY1 residents focus on chronic disease management across the continuum of the inpatient and ambulatory care services provided through the required rotations of Ambulatory Care I and II, Internal Medicine I and II, Transitions of Care and Medication Education, and Pharmacy Informatics. Resident Eligibility Requirements:
Pharm.D. in good standing from an ACPE accredited school of pharmacy by June of the residency year
Eligibility for Ohio pharmacist licensure in good standing by September of the residency year
Ohio intern licensure in good standing by July 1 of the residency year
No active or pending investigations, restrictions, or probations by any state board of pharmacy that may or does affect intern or pharmacist licensure
