The purpose of the Lakeland Regional Health PGY2 Critical Care Pharmacy Residency is to provide future clinical pharmacy specialists with the necessary skills needed to practice in either a medical, surgical, or trauma critical care practice or as an adjunct or non-tenure track faculty position.
The ASHP-accredited residency is a 12-month, organized, directed, postgraduate training program focusing on the development of the skills and competencies necessary to provide optimal pharmaceutical care to critically ill patients. Under the guidance of specialty trained preceptors, the resident will develop advanced clinical skills and professional confidence. The resident is expected to become an integral component of the multi-disciplinary critical care team working with physicians, nurses, respiratory therapists, dieticians, and other pharmacists to provide optimal care to critically ill patients.
