Yavapai Regional Medical Center (YRMC) was incorporated in 1942. What started as a simple, community hospital in the old Jefferson School building on Marina Street is today a non-profit state-of-the-art healthcare system with two acute care hospitals, a network of primary and specialty care clinics, outpatient health and wellness centers, cardiac diagnostic centers, and outpatient medical imaging centers. Together, YRMC’s network of services provides medical care and wellness resources to a geographic area encompassing 5,500 square miles and covering the communities of Prescott, Prescott Valley, Chino Valley, Dewey, Humboldt, Mayer, Paulden, Bagdad, Yarnell, Kirkland, Skull Valley, and Crown King. In 2020 YRMC merged with the Dignity Health System part of CommonSpirit Health.
YRMC West is a 134-bed, acute care hospital located in the heart of Prescott. This award winning hospital has been a vital member of the Prescott community for over 70 years and is home to a comprehensive array of healing services, including the nationally-respected James Family Heart Center.
Since opening in 2006, YRMC East is an excellent example of YRMC’s commitment to a Total Healing Environment. This 72-bed acute care hospital provides advanced medical care through a state-of-the-art environment that includes the Family Birthing Center, the BreastCare Center, the Advanced Wound Care Center, and a growing complex of medical specialties and resources.
The pharmacy department at YRMC has approximately 18 pharmacists and 25 technician support personnel across 2 campuses. YRMC West provides 24 hour pharmaceutical service.
At YRMC clinical pharmacists are essential members of the healthcare team. A decentralized service model ensures our pharmacists support direct patient care and are involved in all aspects of patients’ pharmacotherapy. YRMC Pharmacy Services maximizes our pharmacists’ involvement in clinical areas by effectively using technology and by engaging the support of certified pharmacy technicians. This structure allows our pharmacists to focus on preventing, identifying and resolving medication-related problems for YRMC patients.
The YRMC Pharmacy Services provides a broad spectrum of services across hospitals and affiliated outpatient clinics. Complemented by an established affiliation with The University of Arizona College of Pharmacy and the Midwestern University – Glendale College of Pharmacy, the department’s practice model is progressive and dynamic focusing on service and education
