PGY1 pharmacy residency programs build on pharmacy education and outcomes to contribute to the development of a clinical pharmacist responsible for medication-related care of patients with a wide range of conditions, eligible for board certification, and eligible for postgraduate year two (PGY2) Pharmacy residency training.
Emerson Hospital PGY1 pharmacy residency program offers training opportunities in a community hospital setting in acute care, clinical services and practice leadership. Our residents will have the opportunity to provide pharmaceutical care to patients in multiple settings to achieve optimal therapeutic outcomes. They will become proficient independent practitioners, confident in their abilities to provide effective medication education to a multidisciplinary team, along with patients and their families. They will maintain professional ethics and maturity and assume commitment to the profession to drive positive professional change. Upon completion of the program, individuals are awarded a residency certificate.
