PGY1& PGY2 Combined Pharmacy Informatics at Lifepoint Health

PGY1 Pharmacy & PGY2 Pharmacy Informatics
Lifepoint Health's program is designed to prepare pharmacists to assume informatics positions in healthcare related informatics fields. The PGY1 year will be structured as a Pharmacy Practice residency with focus in pharmacy informatics and the PGY2 year focuses on applying pharmacy informatics principles and best practices across all health information systems and technologies available in LifePoint Health® facilities. In addition, the resident will gain experience in areas such as medication management, leadership development, project management, clinical decision support, and data management.
LifePoint Health® has partnered with Lipscomb University College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences for this unique program. Lipscomb University College of Pharmacy offers optional elective opportunities to teach and precept students, a teaching and learning certificate, a certificate of advanced study in Health Care Informatics, and/or a Master of Science in Health Care Informatics.
The primary practice site for this two-year residency is at LifePoint Health® Headquarters, although much of the PGY1 year is spend in a clinical setting at Sumner Regional Medical Center.
All applicants must apply through PhORCAS and meet the following criteria:
Graduate of an ACPE-accredited school of pharmacy
Minimum GPA of 3.0
Eligible for pharmacist licensure in Tennessee. Residents must be licensed as a pharmacist in the state of Tennessee no later than September 1st and should sit for exams at the first available opportunity.
Pharmacy Residency programs participate in the Residency Matching Program ("The Match"). After "The Match," employment as a pharmacy resident is contingent upon the applicant satisfying Lipscomb University employment eligibility requirements as defined in the Residency Manual that can be accessed on our Website.
Residents are full-time employees of Lipscomb University and eligible to participate in the Lipscomb University benefit program.
