Ambulatory Care Pharmacy
This residency combines contemporary ambulatory care practice with academia. Ambulatory care practice will involve medically underserved populations using collaborative practice agreements to provide chronic disease management and patient education. Hypertension, diabetes, hepatitis C, and dyslipidemia are the primary disease states. The resident will be involved with the expansion of pharmacy services and integration with family medicine residency program. The resident will also participate in grand rounds and case presentations with the medical residents and psychiatric interns at Jordan Valley. Additionally, the resident will learn and develop clinic management skills at a federally qualified health center.
The resident will be an integral part of academic life at our campus. Didactic lectures, IPPE/APPE experiential training, and applied skills labs will comprise the teaching component. Scholarly and service activities will also be included.
