PGY1 Program Purpose: PGY1 pharmacy residency programs build on Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) education and outcomes to contribute to the development of clinical pharmacists responsible for medication-related care of patients with a wide range of conditions, eligible for board certification, and eligible for postgraduate year two (PGY2) pharmacy residency training.

The award winning Carteret Health Care Medical Center, a not-for-profit 135-bed facility, underwent a major expansion project in 2013. This $53,000,000 expansion added 110,000 sq. ft. of space to the existing 300,000 sq. ft. hospital and greatly increases efficiency. The expansion plan created 68 replacement beds, all private rooms, with bath and shower and a Specialty Care Pavilion.
