The UKHealthcare-Chandler (University of Kentucky) offers two PGY1 residency tracks in acute care and ambulatory care. This is a one-year ASHP accredited residency that offers a variety of opportunities across the inpatient and outpatient spectrum. Seven required rotations offer a standardized, but still individualized experience. Numerous specialty elective options are available to further individualize the residency experience and explore therapeutic areas of interest.
Residents participate in providing 24-hour clinical pharmacy services through the in-house on-call program and provide longitudinal staffing. While the program focuses on enhancing clinical skills, residents are encouraged to develop communication and writing skills by teaching and precepting Pharm.D. students and conducting clinical research and other scholarly activities.
