As the primary referral site for the VA's northwest region, VA Puget Sound provides care for Veteran populations encompassing Washington, Alaska, Montana, Idaho, and Oregon.
The VA Puget Sound Health Care System PGY1 pharmacy residency program builds on Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) education and outcomes to contribute to the development of clinical pharmacists responsible for medication-related care of patients with a wide range of conditions, eligible for board certification, and eligible for postgraduate year two (PGY2) pharmacy residency. training.
The VA Puget Sound Health Care System PGY1 pharmacy residency program consists of 8 block and 2 longitudinal rotations. The 12-month residency also includes a 4-week orientation and administrative time placed strategically throughout the year. Block rotations are 6 weeks in length and currently include 5 required and 3 elective learning experiences. Longitudinal learning experiences consist of weekly half-day rotations that span 4 to 5 months. These experiences provide residents with continuity that block learning experiences may not be able to provide. Rotations subject to change based on feedback and preceptor availability.

Requirements
United States citizenship
Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an accredited school or college of pharmacy
