Franciscan Health Dyer's PGY1 Pharmacy Residency Program allows the resident to pursue personal interests through a flexible training experience. The resident will work with centralized, decentralized, and clinical pharmacists to provide total patient care, including pharmacokinetics, anticoagulation management, nutrition monitoring, anti-infective stewardship, drug information, formulary management, technology management, medication safety, understanding drug distribution system, and to provide educational programs for other healthcare professionals. The resident will also have the opportunity to complete a teaching certificate through the Indiana Pharmacy Teaching Certificate Program (IPTeC), write newsletter articles, present formal lectures, serve as preceptor for pharmacy students, and conduct a research project. Upon completion of our PGY1 residency program, our graduates are qualified for a patient care position or to pursue a PGY2 training program in the area of their choice.
