Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center was founded in 1897 and is the largest Catholic teaching hospital in New England. We are a level one trauma center with numerous recognized centers of excellence and a robust ambulatory care platform. Our institution is affiliated with the University of Connecticut and the University of Saint Joseph Schools of Pharmacy. The Department of Pharmacy provides a broad range of clinical services and operates under a clinically integrated model. Medication distribution is highly automated, and leverages Epic® as our single electronic health record system throughout the inpatient and outpatient areas.
This program provides a challenging but rewarding work environment with dedicated and experienced preceptors. The flexibility of our program allows residents the opportunity to tailor their experiences to their interests via a wide selection of elective rotations while ensuring well-rounded clinical growth and professional development. Residents will also be afforded precepting opportunities throughout the year as well as participate in a Teaching Certificate Program.
Applicant Requirements:
Be a graduate of an ACPE-accredited college of pharmacy
Eligible to attain licensure in the state of Connecticut by August 1st of the residency year
Eligible to work in the state of Connecticut for the entire duration of the residency year
Have entry-level knowledge and skills equivalent to that which would be expected of a recent doctor of pharmacy or other appropriate advanced degree candidate
