Valley Hospital Medical Center, located in the heart of Las Vegas, is a 306-bed, tertiary-care teaching hospital, certified Primary Stroke Center and an accredited Chest Pain Center. We are a member of The Valley Health System, a network of six acute care hospitals that provide care for patients throughout Southern Nevada and the surrounding areas. The medical staff represents more than 60 specialties and sub-specialties.
Our post-graduate year one (PGY-1) pharmacy training program accepts two residents every year and has been fully accredited since July 2017.
Prospective candidates must be highly motivated individuals who wish to pursue accelerated learning and training in the realm of clinical pharmacy in an acute care setting and medication therapy management.
Applicants must be graduates or candidates for graduation of an Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) accredited degree program (or one in process of pursuing accreditation) or have a Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Equivalency Committee (FPGEC) certificate from the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP).
All applicants must participate and adhere to the rules of the National Match Service.
Nevada State Pharmacist Licensure must be obtained within 90 days of start.
