PGY1 Pharmacy Residency
Lahey Hospital & Medical Center's PGY1 Pharmacy Residency Program provides a diverse, challenging training experience for individuals seeking accelerated professional growth. Emphasis is on development of skills involving optimization of medication therapy outcomes through use of evidence-based medicine.
Residency training is designed using the ASHP PGY1 Accreditation Standards and the Competency Areas, Goals and Objectives as a framework for the PGY1 residency program. Teaching skills are developed on-site and through opportunities from Northeastern University School of Pharmacy and the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences University in Boston. The resident will have an opportunity to obtain a teaching and learning certificate from Northeastern University. In addition, a multidisciplinary collaborative research project is conducted and presented at the Eastern States Regional Residency Conference. Emphasis is on the resident's progressive development of judgment and professional competence.
Upon successful completion of the PGY1 program, the resident will be qualified to obtain a clinically-oriented position or pursue further post-graduate training.
