About the Program
The Centerpoint Medical Center PGY1 pharmacy residency program builds on Doctor of Pharmacy education and outcomes to contribute to the development of advanced clinical pharmacists responsible for medication-related care of patients with a wide range of conditions. After completing our program, graduates will be ready to enter a competitive job market as well as be eligible for board certification and postgraduate year two (PGY2) pharmacy residency training.
Centerpoint Medical Center is a 285-bed acute care hospital located in Independence, MO. Centerpoint provides a wide range of medical services to the community. Our Joint Commission accredited programs include Total Joint Program, Stroke and Level II Chest Pain Certification.
Goals
This Pharmacy Residency Program is a comprehensive program that emphasizes the development of advanced pharmaceutical care. After an initial orientation to the department, the resident begins a series of concentrated and longitudinal learning activities designed to meet the goals and objectives of the Centerpoint Medical Center residency program. The program aims to develop the resident into a competent and confident practitioner in:

Requirements
U.S. citizenship or permanent resident
Hold a degree from an Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education accredited school of pharmacy
Possess a Missouri pharmacist license within 90 days of beginning of residency year (exam taken prior to start date preferred)
Application Process
Centerpoint Medical Center will manage the application process for its pharmacy residency programs through ASHP’s PhORCAS (Pharmacy Online Residency Centralized Application) process. Candidates must submit the following materials through PhORCAS by DECEMBER 31ST:
