Regions Hospital is a Level I Trauma Center, a nationally recognized burn center, and the largest provider of inpatient psychiatric care in the East Twin Cities Metro. Of the current licensed beds, 100 beds are dedicated to inpatient psychiatry. The hospital cares for individuals suffering from substance use disorders, trauma- and stressor-related disorders, schizophrenia spectrum, bipolar, depressive, and anxiety disorders, among others. The population is largely heterogeneous, with patients from a wide variety of demographic and socioeconomic backgrounds.
