Patient care learning experiences are available in a variety of pediatric sub-specialties including: general medicine, pediatric critical care, neonatal intensive care, cardiac critical care, heart failure, solid organ transplant (abdominal and thoracic), hematology/oncology, stem cell transplant, pulmonary/Cystic Fibrosis, pulmonary hypertension, neurology, pain management, emergency medicine, maternal medicine, and global health with a focus in oncology. In addition to patient care, residents will gain experience in practice management through learning experiences including: clinical administration, longitudinal quality initiatives, and formulary management. Each experience allows for the development of skills in the education of learners, healthcare providers, and patients. The program is tailored to meet the pre-defined program goals and objectives based on the resident interests and past experience.
Residents provide staffing support to the pharmacy department both in an order verification and distributive role. Residents are expected to staff in one of these areas every third weekend. Each resident will staff one winter holiday (Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year).
Interested candidates are encouraged to contact the RPD for on-site interview at PPS or for one-on-one discussion with residency leadership and current resident.
