PGY1 pharmacy residency programs build on Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD.) education and outcomes to contribute to the development of clinical pharmacists responsible for medication-related care of patients with a wide range of conditions, eligible for board certification, and eligible for postgraduate year two (PGY2) pharmacy residency training. The successful resident will demonstrate desire to learn, sincere interest in the profession, and dedication to achieving all outcomes of the residency.
This program cultivates the skills of practice management and education and the professional attitudes of self-evaluation, self-improvement, and accountability. Indiana University Arnett Hospital is a 191-bed community hospital located in Lafayette Indiana. Indiana University Arnett Hospital opened in 2008 and is part of the largest health system in Indiana. Indiana University Arnett Hospital, located in Lafayette Indiana, has an ASHP accredited PGY1 pharmacy residency program with two positions available for the upcoming year. This residency focuses on clinical services, teaching, and research. Rotations offered include Orientation, Internal Medicine, Advanced Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Ambulatory Care, Advanced Ambulatory Care Longitudinal, Critical Care, Emergency Medicine, Infectious Diseases, Advanced Infectious Diseases and Antimicrobial Stewardship, Administration, Ambulatory Infectious Diseases Management, Oncology- Infusion Center/Precision Genomics, Advanced Oncology, Advanced Oncology Longitudinal, Community Pharmacy Longitudinal Rotation, Anticoagulation Clinic Ambulatory Care, Academia, Clinical Staffing/Distribution Longitudinal, Medication Use Evaluation, Pediatrics, Research Project Longitudinal, and Presentations & Teaching Program Longitudinal. Our hospital is located miles from Purdue University and has a strong partnership with Purdue College of Pharmacy. Our residents have the opportunity to participate in the Indiana Pharmacy Teaching Certificate Program (IPTeC), lecture at Purdue University, teach in... the Purdue Professional Practice Laboratory, and assist precepting Purdue APPE rotation students. Residents will also complete a research project and present their findings at Great Lakes Pharmacy Resident Conference.
Candidates must hold a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an ACPE accredited College of Pharmacy and be eligible for licensure in Indiana.
