The resident is assigned a home-base community pharmacy site in Orange, CA where they will spend approximately 40% of their time. In addition, the resident also works closely with our patient care pharmacist team to assist in specialty care and travel health services, allowing a diverse environment for the resident to gain experience. The division office in Fullerton, CA is located nearby where leadership and management learning experiences take place.
Our advanced community-based patient care learning experiences are supplemented with ambulatory care-based patient care in clinics affiliated with our academic partner: University of California, Irvine. Through our partnership with this university, the resident will participate in a teaching certificate program and perform research on campus as well.
Unique aspects of this program revolve around pharmacists’ expanded scope of practice in CA, including administration of injectable drugs and biologics, as well as the opportunity to furnish hormonal contraception, nicotine replacement therapy, naloxone, and travel medications. Residents will collaborate regularly with Albertsons Companies co-residents across the country and will also precept IPPE and APPE students.
Pharm.D. degree and licensure in state of residency required. Official academic transcript, CV, letter of intent, and three letters of recommendation submitted to PhORCAS.
