Marshall Health is an outpatient provider of world-class health care in the tri-state region of West Virginia, Ohio, Kentucky, and beyond. Our pharmacy residency program includes experiences in multiple medical specialties and sub-specialties as well as management, community pharmacy practice, and academia.

Marshall Health pharmacy residents complete nine core rotations that encompass the following specialty areas:

Elective Rotations
The resident and residency director will agree upon two elective rotations such as addiction medicine, geriatrics, specialty pharmacy, transitions of care, and others based on interest.

Staffing Requirement
Resident staffing requirements entail working in the outpatient pharmacy on alternating weekends.
Our residents select a mentor to help ensure success during the year. We have a dedicated pharmacy department and residency program Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) committee focused on creating a department and residency class where everyone feels valued and can thrive in our organization.

Marshall Health ambulatory care facilities are the outpatient clinics of Cabell Huntington Hospital in Huntington, WV. The residency program consists of experiences in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Oncology, Neurology, Psychiatry, Infectious Disease/ Gastroenterology, Endocrinology/ Pulmonology/ Rheumatology, Management, and longitudinal experience in Community Pharmacy Practice. Residents will also gain experience in academia by completing the Marshall University School of Pharmacy Teaching Certificate Program. Other learning experiences may be available depending on residents’ interests.
