Providence Cedars-Sinai Tarzana Medical Center (PCSTMC) is a non-profit community hospital with 250 licensed beds that has been serving the San Fernando Valley communities since 1973. In addition to heart, vascular, orthopedic, cancer, pediatric and women’s services, we house the largest Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) in the area and our emergency department is a designated STEMI and stroke receiving center. The pharmacy department provides 24-hour care and offers a broad range of clinical services including: Antimicrobial Stewardship, TPN & pharmacokinetic consults, anticoagulation monitoring, and Transition of Care activities.
The PGY1 Pharmacy Residency Program is designed to develop practitioner excellence in the provision of patient-centered, evidence-based care. Our philosophy is to continually advance and pioneer the pharmacy profession with a wide variety of clinical responsibilities and duties performed daily by our pharmacy staff to improve patient care.
Accredited by ASHP since 2007, the PGY1 Pharmacy Residency Program emphasizes the development of clinical, operational, administrative, teaching, and leadership abilities. Our program is designed to prepare a motivated, self-directed individual to become a confident and competent clinical pharmacist in an acute care setting and able to pursue PGY2 residency training if desired. We are committed to providing an environment with advanced education and training experiences.
At minimum, the candidate must meet the following criteria to be considered for selection:
Graduate or candidate for graduation from an Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) accredited degree program (or one in process of pursuing accreditation) or have a foreign pharmacy Graduate Equivalency Committee (FPGEC) certificate from the National Association of Board of Pharmacy (NABP)
Licensed or eligible for licensure in the state of California within 90 days of the beginning of the residency program
Submit completed application through PhORCAS by due date and register for the ASHP MATCH program

As an ASHP accredited program, Providence Cedars-Sinai Tarzana Medical Center requires the resident candidate to participate in the ASHP MATCH program. Personal interviews will be scheduled from the end of January through end of February. Selected applicants will be notified of their interview times via email.
