Mercy Health - West Hospital's PGY1 Pharmacy Residency Program is dedicated to creating a nurturing and vibrant learning environment. LEARNING EXPERIENCES
The rotation schedule for the 12-month PGY1 residency program includes:
Required monthly learning experiences: • Orientation • Internal medicine • Emergency medicine • Critical care • Antimicrobial stewardship • Administration
Longitudinal learning experiences: • Ambulatory care (anticoagulation) • Medication safety • Pharmacy and therapeutics • Pharmacy practice experience
Elective learning experiences: • Ambulatory care (congestive heart failure, diabetes, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and smoking cessation) • Sterile compounding • Repeat any required rotation • Teaching and learning certificate through the University of Cincinnati James L. Winkle College of Pharmacy
Other elective learning experiences may be developed based on resident interest and preceptor availability.
