Residency Showcase Program Listings

The PGY1 Pharmacy Residency at Duke Raleigh Hospital equips residents with the knowledge and skills to be successful independent pharmacy practitioners in the inpatient setting. The Duke Raleigh PGY1 is designed to provide strong clinical pharmacy experience at an acute-care community hospital with exposure to health system pharmacy practice management. Graduates of the PGY1 program will be prepared to excel as inpatient clinical pharmacists, seek pharmacotherapy board certification, and pursue PGY2 residencies if interested.

Interested applicants should complete application materials through the PhORCAS system (deadline for submission will be January 5^th, 2024). After review by our Residency Committee, qualified applicants will be notified to arrange an interview during select days in February. This interview provides an excellent opportunity for residency applicants to become acquainted with the residency program.

To apply for this residency, the following is required:

• Letter of Intent (approximately 1 page) that addresses the following questions:
1. Why are you interested in a PGY1 residency?
2. Why are you interested in Duke Raleigh’s residency?
3. What are you short term goals for the next 2-3 years
• Completed PhORCAS Application
• Curriculum Vitae
• Pharmacy College transcript(s)
• Recommendations (3 references using PhORCAS recommendation forms, at least 2 should be from clinical preceptors)
• Resident Matching Program number from the National Matching Service (NMS Match Code: 303713)
