Ascension Seton is offering an ASHP accredited PGY2 Internal Medicine Pharmacy Residency Program. The PGY2 Internal Medicine Pharmacy Residency is a 12 month program designed to provide the resident with a concentrated, yet diverse experience focused on inpatient adult Internal Medicine. The resident will be exposed to not only a variety of practice settings, but also a wide range of patient populations.
At the completion of the program, the resident will be prepared to function, with confidence, as a clinical pharmacy specialist in an inpatient setting or a non-tenure track faculty member with a significant commitment to an Internal Medicine practice. Upon completion of the program, residents should also be prepared to sit for the Board of Pharmacy Specialties (BPS) Pharmacotherapy Specialty Certification Exam.
The primary site of the residency program is Dell Seton Medical Center at the University of Texas, an academic medical center and Level 1 Trauma center. Residents also have the opportunity to complete rotations at four of our community hospitals.
Residents complete twelve one-month rotations including a one-month orientation. The eleven remaining rotations are made up of 8 required rotations (5 Internal Medicine) and 3 elective rotations. For more information, please visit https://medicaleducation.ascension.org/ascensionrx/ascension-seton/pgy2-internal-medicine
