The PGY1 pharmacy practice residency at Adena Regional Medical Center provides a comprehensive experience in a broad area of pharmacy practice including pharmacokinetics, anticoagulation management, infectious disease, cardiology, critical care, emergency medicine, internal medicine, and pharmacy administration. The program is tailored to fulfill the resident's individual interests and goals within ASHP accreditation standards. Core rotations include internal medicine (2 months), critical care, emergency medicine, medication management, and administration. In addition, the program will include orientation and project months. Elective rotations include antimicrobial stewardship, cardiology, transitions of care, and informatics. Residents will also participate in the Teaching Certificate Program through Cedarville University and serving as preceptor for APPE students during select rotations. Residents are required to complete a research project for presentation at national and regional conferences and a manuscript suitable for publication.
Applicants for the PGY1 Program at Adena Health System should be:
Candidates or graduates for graduation of an Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) accredited degree program or have a Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Equivalency Committee (FPGEC) certificate from National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP).
