Reading Hospital PGY1 Specialty Pharmacy Residency is designed to extend a pharmacist’s training in all aspects of specialty and ambulatory pharmacy practice, while remaining flexible to meet the individual resident’s needs and interests. Required rotations will include 3 specialty rotations (Oncology, Neurology, Specialty Clinics, ID, and/or Cardiology), 2 ambulatory rotations (Internal Medicine, Family Health, and/or Endocrine/Weight Management), 1 acute care rotation, and a staffing block.
Longitudinal rotations will include health system ambulatory practice, ambulatory on-call specialist, population health, leadership and administration, research, drug use policy, and teaching/precepting.
Successful candidates will have opportunities to mentor APPE students and complete University of Connecticut's Teaching and Learning program.
