Southwest General is a 350 bed community hospital located near Cleveland, Ohio. Our PGY1 residency program includes 2 positions and our PGY2 Emergency Medicine Program has 1 position. The PGY1 program includes the following required longitudinal experiences: Emergency Medicine, Administration/Management, Preceptorship, and Research. Concentrated core experiences include Medical/Surgical Intensive Care Unit, Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit, Department of Pharmacy Orientation, and Antimicrobial Stewardship. The following are some exceptional opportunities we provide: Code Response Training (BLS, ACLS and PALS certification), State-of-the-art technology: CPOE, EMR, Bar Code, Dispensing Cabinets, IV Smart Pumps, and a Decentralized pharmacy model. Southwest General Emergency Department is a Level III Trauma Center with an annual census of about 52,000 Emergency Department visits with 24/7 ED clinical pharmacist coverage. The Emergency Department consists of 2 trauma bays, 4 critical care rooms, 27 exam rooms, a 6 bed behavioral health unit, and a 6 bed plus 6 recliner Rapid Assessment Unit. ED pharmacists are available for clinical consults for our freestanding Brunswick Emergency D...epartment with an annual census of 10,000 visits.
