The residency year is comprised of both elective and required experiences combined in a quarterly format in addition to elective block rotations. Yep. We know it's nontraditional. Feel free to ask us about it. It is designed to graduate clinical pharmacists responsible for medication-related care of patients with a wide range of conditions, eligible for board certification, and eligible for postgraduate year two (PGY2) pharmacy residency training.

Teaching Experiences
You can't turn around without teaching someone: patients, students, residents, even faculty. Residents have the opportunity to complete didactic lectures for pharmacists, pharmacy residents, and medical residents at Saint Joseph Health System. In addition to this, residents have the lecture opportunities at colleges of pharmacy. Residents are given the opportunity to precept pharmacy students and participate in the preceptorship of family medicine resident rotations. Residents are able to participate in the Indiana Pharmacy Teaching Certificate
Residency Pearls Beyond Our Stellar Preceptors and Curriculum
The Mission of Saint Joseph Health Center is very tangible on a daily basis.
We focus on training people who happen to have chosen pharmacy as a profession instead of just training pharmacists.
Our atmosphere is unique as we are a residency program that grew a department of pharmacy.
We know our stuff, but we like to have fun. Patient care is serious, not everything else has to be.
We expect our residents to become autonomous and take great strides to foster independence by intentionally modeling, coaching, and facilitating.
We graduate three dimensional pharmacists (even though they take up more space than one or two dimensional pharmacists :) ). You will be able to treat patients, teach students, and lead into the future.
Our residency programs are very collegial. You will feel like you are part of a class of 40 residents.
Our alumni network is vast and ALL alumni freely give back to the program on an annual basis.
We were/are one of the first PGY1 pharmacy residency programs focused in the ambulatory care setting.
