Jackson-Madison County General Hospital - PGY1 Pharmacy Resident
Purpose The purpose of PGY1 pharmacy residency programs is to build on Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) education and outcomes to contribute to the development of clinical pharmacists responsible for medication-related care of patients with a wide range of conditions, eligible for board certification, and eligible for postgraduate year two (PGY2) pharmacy residency training. Specifically, the Jackson-Madison County General Hospital PGY1 pharmacy residency prepares pharmacists for community-based hospital practice, to serve as experiential adjunct faculty for a college of pharmacy, and/or to pursue second year post-graduate residency training in a focused area of practice.
