Our ASHP accredited PGY1 Pharmacy Residency program at Kettering Health Main Campus is a 52-week post-graduate program that focuses on developing a competent, confident, and well-rounded pharmacist in the acute care setting. The program offers a variety of experiences and has equipped residents for positions in specialized clinical roles, PGY2 training, academia and others. Kettering Health Main Campus has been graduating well-trained PGY1 pharmacy residents since 2013.
Day to day, residents are directly involved in providing pharmaceutical care to patients as part of the multidisciplinary team in a variety of areas including internal medicine, critical care, emergency medicine, hematology/oncology, antimicrobial stewardship, neonatal intensive care and cardiology. The PGY1 Resident will be trained in Pharmacy Consult Services including pharmacokinetic dosing and monitoring, nutrition support, anticoagulation, and antiarrhythmic medication patient counseling. Development of pharmacy leadership skills in both the inpatient administrative and operational realms is also a priority.
PGY1 Residents will receive a competitive stipend, paid medical, dental, and vision insurance, 15 days of paid time off plus 10 days for professional travel, and an educational travel allowance for ASHP Midyear Clinical Conference*. The resident will be provided an office with a personal workspace, electronic access to Network library resources, full Microsoft Office365 subscription, drug information software, Pharmacists' Letter, Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification, and more.

Applicants for Kettering Health Main Campus's PGY1 Pharmacy Residency Program should hold a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an AACP-accredited College of Pharmacy and eligible for licensure in the state of Ohio.
