The ASHP-accredited PGY2 critical care residency program at Methodist Dallas Medical Center (MDMC) produces graduates capable of practicing as clinical specialists in multiple areas of adult critical care including medicine, surgery/trauma, and neurology. Graduates will possess the ability to collaborate with other healthcare providers and hospital leadership to optimize safe and effective drug therapy in critically ill adults and be qualified for the board certification exam in critical care. MDMC is a community teaching hospital that provides the opportunity to engage our residents in direct patient care, administration and project management activities, teaching, and research to produce clinical pharmacy specialists capable of an advanced level of practice.
Major projects for the residency year include a major research project to be presented at the ASHP Midyear Clinical Meeting and the regional residency conference (ALCALDE), a critical care focused drug monograph, and two CE-quality seminar presentations to physician groups.
