As the largest private, independent, not-for-profit teaching hospital in South Florida, our 672-bed facility is committed to delivering the most advanced and highest quality of care to our South Florida community. Mount Sinai’s International Center is dedicated to meeting the needs of patients and their families who visit us from all over the world. Mount Sinai is centrally located on Miami Beach — a city rich in cultural diversity, which makes it a vibrant international destination. In 2018 and 2019, Mount Sinai Medical Center was named one of the nation’s 100 Top Hospitals by IBM Watson Health™, and was the only hospital in Miami-Dade to be named to the list. Our affiliations with Columbia University in cardiovascular, urological and orthopedic care, combined with our surgical expertise and award-winning facilities make Mount Sinai a true pillar within our community. In addition to our main campus in Miami Beach, Mount Sinai offers its patients a network of 10 locations across Miami-Dade and Monroe County, including three emergency centers.
We provide a strong academic foundation for resident training in a supportive learning environment where everyone is respected for their intrinsic value. We welcome all who share our mission-driven pursuit of excellence, including those from diverse backgrounds. Our residents’ experiences are supplemented by a team of passionate and talented pharmacists and preceptors who further augment residency training at Mount Sinai through a broad variety of learning modalities that include operational, clinical and administrative pharmacy experiences. As a member of the multidisciplinary team, residents will be exposed to a wide variety of practice environments such as Internal Medicine, Critical Care, Cardiology, Antimicrobial Stewardship/Infectious Diseases, Nutritional Support, Neonatology, Hematology/Oncology, Pharmacy Informatics, Psychiatry, Medication Safety, Emergency Medicine, Research, among others.
As an academic training institution, several opportunities exist for our residents to develop their aptitude for teaching. We are an affiliated site for multiple Colleges of Pharmacy and Medicine. Residents will have the opportunity to co-precept IPPE and APPE Pharmacy students, participate in multiple educational methods such as didactic, audience response, patient cases, one-on-ones, peer teaching, and even pursue a Teaching Certificate. Mount Sinai’s pharmacy team is committed to providing excellence in patient care and pharmacist training and education. We strive to prepare pharmacy residents for inpatient practice roles in direct patient care positions within hospital settings, faculty positions, post-graduate year two (PGY2) residency training, and board certification.
Mount Sinai Medical Center participates in the ASHP Pharmacy Online Residency Centralized Application Service (PhORCAS™). Applications will only be accepted via PhORCAS™. Prospective residents must be registered in PhORCAS™ in order to submit the following required application materials by January 10thof each year for consideration:
