Riverside Community Hospital offers a Postgraduate Year 1 (PGY1) Pharmacy Residency Program with three positions available. Our program is designed to develop clinical pharmacists who are competent, confident, and compassionate in providing medication-related care to patients with a wide range of conditions.
RCH is a 517-bed academic teaching medical center serving the Inland Empire and greater Southern California region for over 110 years. Riverside Community Hospital houses one of the busiest emergency departments in the state, with over 110,000 patients in 2023, and is an accredited Level 1 Trauma Center, Comprehensive Stroke Center, and STEMI receiving center.
Specialty services include invasive and non-invasive cardiac procedures, an accredited Chest Pain Center, Cancer Center, and a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. RCH has received Five-Star recipient awards in cardiac, critical care, gastrointestinal, neuroscience, orthopedics, surgical care, vascular, and stroke. RCH is a recipient of the Healthgrades Patient Safety Excellence Award for seven years in a row (2017–2023) and has been named among the Top 5% in the Nation for Patient Safety for five years in a row (2017–2021, 2023).
In addition to being mentored by highly trained pharmacy preceptors in a variety of specialized practice areas, residents will train alongside more than 220 resident and fellow physicians in 12 specialties from RCH’s Graduate Medical Education Program. A current curriculum vitae
A completed application
Official transcripts of all pharmacy education
A letter of intent indicating why post-graduate training is being pursued
A minimum of three formal letters of professional reference via the official recommendation form in PhORCAS
