The Bay Pines VA Health Care System (VAHCS) is a non-profit, teaching medical facility located on 337 acres and situated on the Gulf of Mexico. The healthcare system serves a 10 county area from Pinellas County in the north to Collier County in the south. Together, the Bay Pines VAHCS provides care to over 110,000 Veterans every year including our outpatient clinics in Bradenton, Lee County, Naples, Palm Harbor, Port Charlotte, St. Petersburg, Sarasota, and Sebring. Our healthcare system serves the healthcare needs of America’s Veterans in West Central and Southwest Coastal Florida by providing primary care, specialized care, and related medical and social support sources.
Furthermore, the Bay Pines VAHCS offers both Postgraduate Year One (PGY-1) and Postgraduate Year Two (PGY-2) residencies. Our programs recruit for a total of eight pharmacy residents annually. Five PGY-1 pharmacy residents are recruited for at the C.W. Bill Young VA Medical Center (CWY) and one PGY-1 pharmacy resident is recruited for at the Lee County Healthcare Center (LCHCC). Additionally, one PGY-2 Ambulatory Care resident is recruited for our Sarasota Community Based Outpatient Clinic (SAR) and one PGY-2 Health-System Pharmacy Administration and Leadership resident is recruited for at at C.W. Bill Young VA Medical Center. All postgraduate programs are 12 months in duration and ASHP accredited.

The applicant must possess a Doctor of Pharmacy Degree (Pharm.D.) from an ACPE accredited college
US. citizenship is required
The applicant must be registered with the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists' Match Program
An interview is required for all invited applicants
