General: Morton Plant North Bay Hospital, in New Port Richey, Florida is the birthplace of West Pasco County health care, opening in 1965 as a 50-bed facility. Today, this small not-for-profit community hospital has grown to 141 acute care beds to meet the growing needs of the community. This expansion includes a cardiovascular center with advanced imaging equipment for cardiovascular diagnostics and interventions, a 5,060-square foot emergency care department and three off site behavior health facilities providing 24-hour nursing care to adults and children. North Bay Hospital was the first hospital in Pasco County to use cutting-edge, computer-aided surgery navigation systems for knee, hip and back surgery.
