The pharmacy residency programs at Cambridge Health Alliance (CHA) is now recruiting for four residents. CHA is comprised of 3 hospitals located in Cambridge, Somerville and Everett and 15 primary care clinics in Boston's Metro North region. We are committed to taking care of a vulnerable, underserved and culturally diverse patient population. CHA has a robust interpreter services program serving more than 60 languages. We are a teaching affiliate of Harvard Medical School and Tufts University School of Medicine. In addition, we are a training site for many local colleges of pharmacy. An important driver of our high performance Pharmacy Enterprise is the inclusion of our pharmacists as credentialed and privileged members of the CHA medical staff.
The PGY1 resident will develop a solid foundation in evidence-based medicine along with critical thinking, problem solving & team-based skills. After completing an orientation period, the resident will have opportunities to practice in both the inpatient and ambulatory arenas. Required rotations include inpatient medicine, critical care or infectious disease, practice management and ambulatory care experiences. Elective rotation offerings include psychiatry, academia, population health and ambulatory care with a behavioral health focus. The resident will complete a longitudinal leadership seminar with the Chief Pharmacy Officer. In addition, the resident will execute a quality improvement research project as well as participate in committee work. Residents develop teaching skills by providing an ACPE-accredited CE lecture and participating in a teaching certificate program. Residents gain inpatient pharmacy operations experience and are embedded into the clinical on-call program. Residents will attend the Midyear Clinical Meeting and a Regional Residency Conference.
