Wentworth-Douglass Hospital (WDH) is a nationally recognized not-for-profit charitable health care organization located in Dover, NH. WDH includes, 178-bed Magnet recognized hospital, several urgent care and walk-in facilities, multiple testing centers, and greater than 50 Wentworth Health Partners primary care and specialty care provider practices. In 2017, WDH joined the Massachusetts General Hospital Family and MassGeneral Brigham system. WDH has two PGY1 pharmacy resident positions available. Residents will have core rotations in internal medicine, emergency medicine, critical care, leadership, precepting, pediatrics, and ambulatory care. Longitudinal learning experiences include anticoagulation consult service, medication safety and drug diversion, teaching seminar, and reserach project.
The PGY1 Residency Program at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital features a number of learning experiences in both the inpatient and ambulatory areas. We strive to create a residency experience that is tailored to the resident. Residents will have learning experiences in ambulatory care, internal medicine, critical care, infectious disease, emergency medicine, medication safety, and leadership. We also offer diverse electives including oncology, cardiology, pain and palliative care, and transitions of care as well as many others.
Wentworth-Douglass Hospital is a community hospital with the feel of an academic medical center. Our decentralized inpatient pharmacist team are very well respected by the medical staff and have many protocols in place to allow for autonomy. Our ambulatory care pharmacists have broad collaborative practice agreements allowing the ability to really impact patient care and help take the workload off the providers.
