Residency Showcase Program Listings

The PGY2 Critical Care residency program at Ascension St. Vincent's Riverside is designed to develop a well-rounded independent critical care practitioner who can provide high-level clinical services in a variety of ICU settings. The resident will develop skills in managing drug therapy for patients with multiple disease states in the critical care setting, educating students, residents, and other healthcare professionals, and conducting clinical research. The resident will also gain experiences in therapeutic policy development in the critical care environment. Required rotations include Medical Intensive Care I and II, Cardiac Intensive Care, Emergency Medicine, Parental Nutrition, Infectious disease, and Pharmacy Leadership/Continuous Quality Improvement. Sixteen weeks are dedicated to elective rotations which the resident may select among the following practice sites: Antibiotic Stewardship, Clinical Research, Nephrology, and Pulmonology.  Additional electives at other local facilities include Pediatric Critical Care, Toxicology, Transplant, and Trauma. Longitudinal components of the residency program include pharmacy practice, research, and pharmacy leadership/continuous quality improvement. The resident presents formal lectures and in-services including Pharmacy Grand Rounds, pharmacist continuing education at a professional meeting, poster presentation at ASHP Midyear, attends weekly resident meetings, teaches cardiac mock codes, serves on multiple pharmacy and critical care committees, and completes two community service projects.

Currently authorized to work in U.S., curriculum vitae, official transcript from accredited college of pharmacy, completion of PGY1 residency, three letters of recommendation, and eligibility for Florida licensure.
