Ascension Alexian Brothers is a Level II Trauma and Comprehensive Stroke Center and offers specialty care including heart and vascular, neurosurgery, and orthopedics.
Pharmacy residents at Ascension Alexian Brothers will work alongside our dedicated preceptors and clinical pharmacists to grow into well-rounded, independent clinical pharmacists.

Located in the suburbs of Chicago, Alexian Brothers Medical Center is a critical care hospital which offers advanced specialty care services and care. Alexian Brothers is a destination for specialty care including heart and vascular, neurosurgery, critical care, stroke care, and orthopedics. We offer a wide range of minimally invasive procedures using robotic-assisted technology, imaging, and a dedicated inpatient rehabilitation center, all in one campus.
The PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency program offers a robust 12 month learning experience focusing on critical care, emergency medicine, infectious diseases, ambulatory care, internal medicine, and cardiology. Our preceptors and clinical staff will work alongside the resident to foster the development of knowledge and improve clinical skills. The residents will be encouraged to explore their practice interests to prepare them for a specialty PGY-2 residency or clinical pharmacist position. Residents will have the opportunity to contribute to local projects and process improvement measures with opportunities for involvement in system and national projects across Ascension Health, as well.
