All residents receive adjunct clinical faculty appointments at the University of Michigan College of Pharmacy and teach 1 course in the Fall or Winter semester, which provides endless opportunities to refine your didactic and precepting skills. We also provide an optional teaching certificate.
A Residency Wellness Program aimed at helping you build your resiliency skills with dedicated time off from residency to practice wellness activities.

All residents will have 2 opportunities to publish manuscripts through their longitudinal research project and a writing project (case series/review article).

Program Specific information:
The Department of Pharmacy Services at the University of Michigan Health is recruiting applicants for a one-year PGY2 Residency in Critical Care. PGY2 pharmacy residency programs build on Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) education and PGY1 pharmacy residency programs to develop clinical pharmacists in advanced or specialized practice. This PGY2 Critical Care pharmacy residency providesresidents opportunities to mature their medication therapy knowledge, develop and refine their skill in applying it, and employ both in the care of the critically ill. Residents who successfully complete an accredited PGY2 pharmacy residency should be highly qualified for clinical pharmacy and/or faculty position and be eligible for board certification in critical care.
Requirements:
Eligibility for the Pharmacy Residency Program requires that candidates maintain primary residence in the state of Michigan throughout the program.
Interested candidates must submit the following materials viaPhORCAS no later than January 2, 2026:
Eligibility for or holding an active pharmacist and controlled substance license in Michigan,
Academic transcripts,
Successful completion of a PGY1 residency program,
Three letters of reference in the standard PhORCAS form,
Letter of intent,
Curriculum vitae
An interview is required and will be scheduled between late January and early February.
**Telecommuting is allowed under agreed-upon circumstances between RPD, preceptor, and resident.**

The University of Michigan medical campus, located in the heart of Ann Arbor, Michigan includes an adult-based University Hospital, a pediatrics/women's-based C.S. Mott Children's Hospital and Von Voigtlander Women's Hospital, the Rogel Cancer Center, and the Cardiovascular Center with a total of 1000 licensed beds, with 244 dedicated to pediatric care. We are a level 1 adult and pediatric trauma center with a burn unit. University Hospital is a 577-bed tertiary care teaching complex. We are closely affiliated with the College of Pharmacy, which is within walking distance of the medical center. We have approximately 30 health centers and 120 outpatient clinics, many located on t...he main medical campus. University of Michigan Health maintains the first university-owned hospital in the United States and the oldest College of Pharmacy in a state-supported institution.
