The PGY1 residency program at Homestead Hospital is intended to provide a comprehensive foundation for contemporary pharmacy practice. The program is designed to enhance the resident’s competencies in managing medication-use systems and optimizing drug therapy. Practicing clinical staff pharmacists, clinical pharmacy specialists, clinical coordinator, operations manager, residency program director, and director of pharmacy serve as mentors and preceptors. The program is structured to suit the individual needs of the resident.
A PGY1 resident completing this program will be prepared and confident in pursuing a PGY2 specialty residency training of their choice or/and attain a BPS certification.
Candidates must possess a Pharm.D. degree from an ACPE accredited college of pharmacy and Florida licensure (or eligible). Residency candidates must submit a Curriculum Vitae, official transcripts, a letter of intent, and three letters of recommendation using the standard reference recommendation forms in PhORCAS™. Candidates must participate in the Resident Matching Program.
